Most dangerous Liverpool striker of the first half as he gets past Brad Friedel. Andy Carroll taking notes

    Kop chanting "a cat, a cat, a cat, a cat, a cat, a cat, a cat" !

It's all very opportune. Capello quits the same day as any obstacles to Redknapp becoming England manager are removed.....

Personally, I'd love Redknapp to get the job. I'm not saying we'd win Euro 2012 far from it but there would be a much better chance of a respectable performance.

As a Gooner I'd enjoy seeing Spurs slip into managerless disarray!!!

Nah, I reckon they'd still finish above you.

I want Redknapp for England but then part of me thinks about the last time we had a popular "motivator" as England manager.........Kevin Keegan! Would the same thing happen again?

You're probably right about Spurs, but you never know! We've had a manager who couldn't speak English, we might as well have one who can't read and write...

Amazing that someone in football seems to have (misguided) principles, Capello didn't agree with what his bosses did, so resigned. I have more respect for him now to be honest. Would love Harry as manager, think he is the best English one out there, feel a bit sorr for Spurs as they are doing well and it's nice to see someone else challenging Man U.

Given completely free reign, personally I'd love to put Ferguson in charge, that would get people plaing properly as I think he is the best current manager (not Wenger, who to me is still God but a close second to AF)

At least he'd have that common bond with the players!
