Had a great day out with Geoff on his JNC and also a very interesting recce over a very wintry High Street and Red Screes.Schedule was notably quicker than BG. Luckily I have a couple of years to get some training in.

And the other thing - make sure you get some good pacers to help you out. We had the best possible - and I really mean that. They were brilliant, every one of them. Thanks, guys.

The weather up to Kirkstone was pretty good, then it deteriorated somewhat. My JNC partner, Ian, has written a good report of our run which you can read here - http://www.penninefellrunners.co.uk/reports.htm
I'm not sure if my Edale time means much. As I said I missed loads of training through April, and my ankle was still pretty bad when we did the JNC in May. In fact the physio strapped it for me just so I could get through the day.

Actually it may be of more use the fact that come July I did Wasdale in 4hr 45min whereas Ian did it in 5hr 43min. So maybe race results don't mean that much!

Good luck to anyone who has a crack this year. I think the best advice I can give (apart from not getting injured!) is to make sure you get a few 12 hour runs in before your attempt.

Oh yes, and remember only 1 other person, besides Ian, did it in under 12 hours last year. It's not easy!
