And the other thing - make sure you get some good pacers to help you out. We had the best possible - and I really mean that. They were brilliant, every one of them. Thanks, guys.

I'm not sure if my Edale time means much. As I said I missed loads of training through April, and my ankle was still pretty bad when we did the JNC in May. In fact the physio strapped it for me just so I could get through the day.

Actually it may be of more use the fact that come July I did Wasdale in 4hr 45min whereas Ian did it in 5hr 43min. So maybe race results don't mean that much!

Good luck to anyone who has a crack this year. I think the best advice I can give (apart from not getting injured!) is to make sure you get a few 12 hour runs in before your attempt.

Oh yes, and remember only 1 other person, besides Ian, did it in under 12 hours last year. It's not easy!
    What a brilliant write up!

It sounds more like a race than a long distance challenge.

If i can drive when you next have a bash geoff, i'll be there!

And make sure you don't schedule it for the same day as the OCT or you'll never hear the last of it.
Tao begets one. One begets two. Two begets all things.

You're a bit young for a recognised JNC you know Al ?

It is a damn good route though.
