Dux De Lux thou art so boring!
True, one doesn't have to be from Westmoreland but one day visas are available from Jon Broxap (P Bland Sports)
...and if you are short of a club and not quite dead then Ambleside is the place to be
NB Our 25th Anniversary on the longest day weekend is definitely not to be missed especially the BBQ after the Rothay Round 9000' 23 miles
This year’s Loughrigg-Silver Howe Chase is this Sunday 14th February at 12.00hrs.
Registration at the Rugby Club, Ambleside – parking here is limited as there is a rugby match in the morning. Park by recycling site by Rothay Manor or on under Loughrigg road.
Usual course – 3 checkpoints – Loughrigg on way out, Silver Howe and Loughrigg on the way back. Start and finish in Rothay park.
Entry probably £3 to include usual soup, tea and flapjack.
Why walk when you can run.
er...
this would be as distinct from the Loughrigg & Silverhowe Chase listed in the calendar for 27th June...?
Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run
......yes, I don't think just anyone can enter this race.......
Did this race regularly every year some 20 or so years ago. I think in those days that it was organised by Jon Broxap and although it was open to anyone it was never in the calendar. Given the time of year I well remember running in some pretty extreme conditions including deep snowdrifts. Whilst it doesnt stray onto the higher hills its a cracking route and much recommended.
