    Re: Night Events

    Wotcha Grifter,

Well, as you know, subject to not being dispatched over to Switzerland (!), I'll be there next Tuesday for the Weets night event (...not a race of course...now that would need insurance!). I know Mick K is aiming of biking to the trig (and one presumes back again...?) - he was trying to get a good route-plan from Glenn last Weds...you know...that famous Stirton navigator...

I'm due to be working at home next Tuesday so reckon I'll be fine to lend a hand helping you marking out the course...oh no...oops...it's an any-route you want of course or otherwise.

What time does registration start (given the 7:30 event start). I'm up for getting across to the Greyhound early if you need any help on registration etc. Shout whenever.

And has our summit marshal got the flashing beacon yet?

Hope to see lots of forumiters there...should be an interesting night. Are we offering free-secret-route-tip to forumiters?

Should be a good laugh but with regards to route choice i think there is only one real way for the runners but a few if your biking it !
I shall be there from 6.30pm to jot down the names and give out numbers (purely so we know whos back coz this isnt a race you know but i better beat stick).
Hope to see a few forumites having a go as they all keep going on about how good their headtorches are.

Thanks Stick, but make it 6.30pm. Not sure how many will turn up but should be fun even if theres a handful. I will use this as a guide as to possible future events. I wonder if any Ladies will turn up.

Right-o Griffy. See you at 6:30.

I've defaulted to using step-daughter's PC whilst mines getting fixed (any idea how much a new PSU costs any ComputerCentre or other-wise forumiters out there ) but she's winging on about having to get up for school or something tomorrow so I'd best not tarry too long this evening (Mrs Stick's already been hassling... )

    Re: Night Events

Very intresting event as the temp dropped to sub zero and the snow decided to flow down just for the run. As it happens most runners fell at least once and one or two climbed quicker than they decended !
Overall i think everybody had fun even the 4 madmen on bikes (Ian Taylor must have a screw loose)
Looking forward to the next one Feb.21st up Beamsley Beacon from Addingham.

From about 20 quid depending on the power output. Have a look here. Dead easy DIY job.

Cheers David. Appreciate the reply and the link - now favourited!

Trouble for me is that I took it to local PC shop. Good news is that I'm back fully pc fit (wish I could say the same running wise, and with next Kendal Winter League a mere 13hrs away...) and online again (obvious I guess!)...but it did cost me £55, fitted...

Oh well, I'll give you a shout next time it happens!

    Hey Gang,

Don't forget Wharfedale Harriers' next night event!

Up and down Beamsley Beacon from Addingham; Weds 21st Feb, 7:15pm.
If it's anything like the Weets race should be...err...hmm...interesting!

Be great to see other forumiters there!

p.s. I've scared off the Langbar Lucifer Feet-in-the-Cowclaps told us about. He was a bit of a softy really (Lucifer that is, not our French orientated pal!); said he was a track runner
