    Recommendations for waist hydr

    Re: Recommendations for waist

Dont know what you intend to use it for but I prefer a bottle in the side pocket of my OMM bumbag - reasons being its still accesible and easy to reach, its smaller and lighter, quick and easy to refill on the way round, cheap to replace and it helps me keep track of how much I'm drinking because I can see how much is left and keep a track of how many times I've emptied it - also easy to dump any water left in the later stages if you wish. Obviously if you are planning something where you cant refill on route then you need something that carries more water - but I suggest that one of those full is a lot of weight to carry if you dont have to.

This one is recommended by Camelbak for trail running: http://www.camelbak.com/sports-recre...0-montara.aspx

I've got the Inov8 one and also this one

The Inov8 one can carry more water but it's difficult the tell how much you have left which isn't a problem with the RaidLight one.

Horses for courses really although I use the raidlight one more.

I prefer one that is mostly for carrying water and not extra items. The Raidlight has more than enough room for extras.

How do you attach the tube in the waistband?

there's a little spring clip on a platypus tube, but I tend to just tuck it in anyway. Best not to use orange lucozade sport because when that's in the tube it looks like a catheter!

I use OMM ultra waistpack / last drop combo, with optional 1litre bladder if weather is hot/water up top is looking sparse.
