[North Country Boy]

I'm guessing its too late to book a spot in a campsite what with it being bank holiday weekend and all, but does anyone know of anywhere in the Thirlmere Valley (or anywhere in the area) where you can pitch a tent (and park a car) without anyone minding too much? Cheers.

Was my first mountain fell, came near the back and loved the experience. Managed to keep the cramps away until the final descent: they came on with a vengence. Weather held out too, though very windy in places.
Met some nice people and finished fairly strong.
Mmmm... which one shall I do next?

Ow. At least I kept to my feet this year, rather than utilising my right buttock, but that last descent is still a sod.

Enjoyed it, and I think the weather reminded you, you are in the mountains, not poncing about on some 10 mile road race

If you liked that distance and ascent, then it's got to be Coledale Horseshoe a week on Tuesday and Blencathra a week on Wednesday....
