Thread: Heaton Park Run 5k

Not sure about GM team. I wasn't on it. Decided not to do it as it would mean another week of reduced mileage in the build up to the VLM.
Steve Vernon was on the team but didn't start. Pete R pulled out somewhere in the race. Bond, Riddell and Bailey all finished.
Dave Norman doing a 20 mile race today, Tom Lancashire has been ill and not back in training so I presume it didn't fit with his plans. Just one of them things. The three that ran did ok. Riddell got a few scalps.

I have got an orienteering event at the University of Manchester Fallowfield campus at 10.30 on Saturday and might do the Parkrun on the way.

Is it feasible time wise to do the Parkrun then get to Fallowfield in time? Would the best way be to get back on the M60 to get there or try to plow through the middle of Manchester?

Certainly feasible mate. I'd probably head into Manchester via the A56 rather than get back on the M60 though - shouldn't be that busy on a Saturday.

English Schools Cross Country next Saturday at Heaton Park so don't be surprised when you see extra tape marking the course (but first race isn't until 12.30)

Club vests are a bit passé at parkrun Richard - but who are you with these days?
