Well done Nik for winning the short course . A fantastic performance over seas in tough conditions. all that snow around Christmas must have helped

Excellent result Sunday 14 March 2010 but it is a road race!

Not surprisingly, Nik Cook finished first in the 120 mile event here in Fort McPherson in the very early hours this morning, crossing the finish line in 38 hours 59 minutes. This sets a new record for this event beating last year’s time of Andy Murray by a mere 9 minutes. Also coming in to finish in the early hours was Tony Gilmour from the UK in the very credible time of 43 hours 25 minutes.

Cheers guys.. it was an amazing experience. A much tougher environment to race in than the desert. No real plans to "upgrade" to the 350 miler but am quite tempted by the Yukon Arctic Ultra (that ones off-road XRunner, although the Dempster isn't really much more than a glorified forest track).
