Well done chaps. I stumbled across this thread & saw that you'd run the Calderdale Way as a training run. I'm hoping to have a go at that in the summer some time so it's good to hear someone else has had the same idea. I'm unlikely to match 10:45 though!

Ian - our lap times were 5.35, 5.40 (race) and about 7.15. The last lap was much slower as we had more support / rest stops, it was dark from the summit of Whernside and we were both a tad jiggered ;-)
Andy - Calderdale Way in one go is a really nice day out but you need to plan supplies carefully as there's only limited grub / drink available en-route - there's a report here if you want a read : http://blog.sportsshoes.com/category...g/andy-nicoll/
Very well done, an awesome achievement and an enjoyable 5.35, 5.40 and 7.15 hours out i'll bet, respect.
Hills and Guinness!
I read the write-up - thanks for that. Food's no problem as I only eat jellies on a run. Water's my main concern for the Calderdale Way. Apart from the spring on Stoodley Pike did you find "safe" water anywhere else? I walked it in a day many years ago, but I relied on buying milk from shops & beer from pubs. They're not really good options for running.
