Club night and a ”hill” session.... well the hill was about 300 metres long and the entire session can’t really have topped 500ft in total.

8.5 miles of which 1.5 miles were hard effort.

Steady as she goes now until Long Mynd Valleys on Sunday and hopefully a pb!

Cold, clear and breezy for this evenings RATRun from Cavendish House Royal British Legion in Hartington. 8 miles and 1,200 feet around the Dove Valley, some of which was very moist underfoot!

A decent couple of pints of Marstons Pedigree back at the Legion afterwards.

Darwen Tower Loop again today for the 3rd time in 6 weeks.

    6.75 miles, 1400ft, 83 minutes.

Took 2.5 minutes off since first one and conditions pretty similar on each run. I probably feel better after today than the others so at least it's in the right direction and barring any glitches should be OK to potter around the Stan Bradshaw in a few weeks.

I plan to stick to this as my longish effort until I'm under 80 and then look for something top side of 90 minutes.
Broke the 80 today with a 79:25, so pretty pleased with that. So off goes my entry for next week's Stan Bradshaw which will be my first race since July and I'll be happy just to complete nice and steady.

    Great stuff WP.

Managed 41 miles and 12,350ft this week..... including a tough race where I felt fairly good.

Similar next week, find a balance between some solid work and being ready to race again up next Sunday.

Had a run out at Cloud Nine today with 268 others over in Congleton. A nice race over varied terrain in cold, windy but sunny conditions. Managed to get round in 48th place and 1st MV60.
A nice way to celebrate St David's Day.

Have you ever done Tegg's Nose Llani? Good, fast race, and part of a country show/sheepdog trial, which is always fun... I did it a few years ago on a scorching day... always mean to go back, but a busy time of year for racing.

No Travs I have not got around to it.

As you say it is a busy time of year and we are spoiled for choice in the Peak District with numerous races every weekend and even midweek races can clash during the summer.

Club night tonight. Another cold evening.

Session was 16 x 400mtrs. Only did 10, and ran with a slower group than usual, just as a loosener after the weekend.

7 miles, of which 2.5 miles were some sort of reasonable effort.

5 days to the Cardingmill Canter and my 4-man fell team is still all in one piece! Watch out Mercia!

8km tour of Warley Woods. Alternate 400m hard and jog recovery. Hills were hard going - legs still recovering from LMVs and very wet underfoot.

Club night tonight. 8 x 1km off 1 minute rest. A good leg stretcher tonight, although didn't really get south of 19min/5km pace on the reps. Saving the legs.

10 miles, of which 5 miles were reasonable effort.

Incredibly my team for Sunday is still all in one piece... Could be unparalleled scenes where a team planned in advance actually makes it to a race without any dropouts... (that'll put the curse on it!)
