A "refreshing" run. Stepped out of the front door just as a squally shower was starting. Fortunately the bridleway up to the Outwoods has a substantial hedge on one side, which provided some shelter from the wind and rain.
Again felt very lacking in energy, and soon abandoned the idea of going up to the Beacon. Even stopped to walk for a few seconds when I reached the top of the Outwoods.

Unexpected double header today.
I was up early. Weather was dodgy, but looked like a nice weather window around 8:00 so off out and did 4.66 mile, 44 minutes, 270 ft.
Finished with some strides on canal.
Back home, shower, brew, a bit of yoghurt and granola and Mrs WP said she fancied a Beamers Trail run. I couldn't let her do it on her own
I took a couple of short cuts to save the legs as she did more like 6.75 miles.
for me another 6 miles, 76 minutes, 735 ft.
I did wait a couple of times after the short cuts, so I was more like 72/3 and left the watch running for her.
Overall can't complain with 10 mile + and 1000ft.
In addition it's a club challenge weekend. We are attempting to cover John O Groats to Lands End between us so a nice little contribution to the effort.

My first run for 3 weeks having been "resting" my right hamstring. 4 miles and 250 feet in 33 mins, a bit quicker than planned, around Hurdlow with my son.
Tomorrow morning I will probably find out whether or not ANOTHER comeback is on the cards!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
A decent haul this week.... 76 miles, 12,000ft including two hard sessions, one of which was a very encouraging track session.
Hoping for similar next week, with a good session in there, and a planned trip to the peaks later in the week.
12km/400m in the rain. First time I have got wet on a run since February. Took the climbs easy as the calf is still grumbling.
Steady early morning trudge around the lower slopes of Witton.
5 mile, 50 minutes, 500ft - a certain symmetry to the stats

Last night did my second comeback run on the High Peak Trail. 5 flat miles in just under 39 mins. A bit quicker than I wanted to go but a nice even pace with only max of 7 seconds between miles. Hamstring a bit tender this morning.

Ran one of the usual club runs this morning, with a 2.1 mile time-trial down a disused railway line.
Ran the 2.1 mile effort in 12:34 which was pleasing on several fronts...
- pb by 8 seconds
- (just) averaged sub 6min/mile
- ran a pretty effective negative split... first mile was 6:04
- probably the best run i've done in the head... i knew my legs weren't 100% fresh... i'd done over 4000ft climb yesterday... but knew i had the form at the moment to knock out a pb if i concentrated on staying relaxed throughout.
7 miles in total.
Beacon Hill, via Buck Hill and Felicity's Wood on the way up, back by direct route: 56 minutes. First time in a few weeks that I have felt energetic enough to run up there, although I have been walking up the Beacon every weekend.
