That's just good to hear DT. Some people in fell running are always a pleasure to meet but hey...I will spare your blushes.

29 min 02 secs at Keighley Cliffe Castle Parkrun this morning (I was at 37 min 47 secs two weeks ago - six weeks after liver surgery). Chemotherapy starts next Friday. Hoping to have a run out in the week but then realistically it’ll probably be walking / marshalling duty for most of the rest of 2019

Finished April with a 5 miler/900ft around Darwen Tower. Pushed for time, so started work at 6:15 this morning to earn myself an hour in the decent mid morning weather.
It was fantastic up there - very peaceful. Just a couple of dog walkers.

After a better mileage month in March (102ml/8000ft) I wanted April to be about more climb per run, so managed 69.2ml/9,000ft.

I would have preferred a little more, but I did manage 43ml/4500ft in walks with the other half, mostly over the Easter break.

I've been struggling with what I believe to be plantar fasciitis all month. The balls of my heels have been tender, at times almost like hot pokers were being stuck in them. Managed with ice and ibuprofen gel.
It's probably worse in the morning when I get out of bed.

May will now be about trying to ease that. So running will be perhaps only 1-2 a week and trying to keep it to grass, or the odd race such as Hameldon this weekend and hopefully getting out on the bike 2-3 times a week.

I think I also need to invest in some new footwear. I am certainly guilty of trying to squeeze to many miles out of my old favourites.

Club night tonight and a track session.

    3 x 200m, 2 x 400m, 3 x 200m, all off 90 secs rest.

Then walk 1 lap of the track (approx 5 mins rest) and repeat the session again.

A bit too fast and furious for me, especially after a tough tussock-bashing race on Sunday. By the end of the session I was a good 100m behind those I’d aspire to be up with. But looking at the numbers it wasn’t too bad...

The 400’s were knocked off between 76-78 secs, and the 200’s between 37-38 secs.

6.5 miles in total, of which 2.5 miles were hard track effort.

Did a local Parkrun this morning... 18:34 which was my fastest time on that particular course by almost 30 seconds, and in fact an overall pb by 7 seconds.

Very pleased, as didn’t feel particularly speedy, despite feeling strong in the legs. I’ll have to get over to Coventry for the next one (a flatter and slightly faster course), on slightly fresher legs, and I might be able to get a lot closer to 18mins. Something to target...

    . . . good stuff

I’ve done four on the trot but have a medical procedure needing general anaesthetic next Friday. Might have to be a steady jog round, which having your times in mind Travs is all I’ve been doing anyway 🐢

No time to bask in the “glory” of yesterday’s pb.... pm yesterday a hill session, 4200ft.... and today a steady run out on the Coventry Way and back along the Cov Canal... 21 miles...

Weeks total 46 miles and 10750ft.

Made the most of the bank holiday to get the week off to a solid if not spectacular start... AM treadmill hill session, and PM a steady road/field run. Total of 10 miles 3250ft.

Hopefully get two solid club sessions in, and a nice run up to Sunday's race (South Mynd Tour).

I've just seen this. I'm sorry to hear that, but hopefully the surgery was positive. Good luck with the chemo
