an hour for me, 6.4 miles and around 650ft, cross country route to Darwen via Tockholes to collect the car so the wife could walk home via Tockholes.

I wouldn't though WP. There are many of us not doing what we once did. Injuries, illness or simply no time. For me though my very average 4.5 miles along The Grantham Canal yesterday represents a step forward and nice to run comfortably for a change.
I am aiming for a slow Kinder half Dozen this coming Saturday!!

I think the fact that I had to push so hard on the climbs to make the places back up, didn't necessarily help my time as I then felt slow over the extensive runnable sections... had I not made an early nav error then i'd perhaps have been able to pace it better. But I felt the best tactic to gain places yesterday was to try and break a couple of those around me on the climbs.

But another solid week, 47 miles, 12500ft.

It's now all about the build-up to Tenerife Bluetrail, less than 4 weeks away. Although the small matter of the Moelwyn champs race, and the Welsh 1000m between now and then. At least i'll be well-raced when I hit Tenerife!
Another great effort Travs. I did keep an eye out for you whilst cycling the cobbles in Cov City Centre on Sunday, but see you had far greater and more worthy objectives than to watch a bunch of cyclists!!

That's 1.5 miles more than most people would be doing just after chemo.

Yeah great stuff DT, well done...

An interesting track session tonight, and in fact one of the hardest track sessions I’ve done...

12 x 400m reps, split into 4 sets of 3 reps.... each set of 3 getting faster by approx 5 seconds. 20 secs rest after rep 1, 40 after rep 2, 60 after rep 3.... the aim being that the final three reps are up to your usual 400m rep pace (in my case around 78-80 seconds)....

My target was in the region of 95secs for the first set, then 88, then 83, then 78 for the final three...

    In fact it went.... 95, 95, 88(!?), 86, 86, 86, 84, 83, 83, 80, 83, 82....

Really tough session, the 20 second recoveries were over in a blink, and the 40 second recoveries were not much better... the 60 second reps were nice, but then having to increase the pace, which did start to feel tough on reps 7-9.....

I was pacing our little group, and a new guy.... for the final three reps I just told them to go out and do whatever they could, but it appeared everyone was feeling the pace, and with the short rests I just couldn’t get down to normal 78-80secs pace...

Did a total of 6 miles tonight, 3 of which were reps. Again it’ll be the only real toughie of the week as I’ll be hopefully racing on Saturday... either at Fairfield or a local Parkrun...

I had to be in Burnley for 9, so dropped wife off at work just before 7 and headed for Sabden.

5 miles 1150ft on Pendle. It was warm even at 7:30 but a beautiful morning and so peaceful up there. Just one walker near Deerstones.

    Back to the grind now

Getting back on it a bit. 5 mile run comfortable 8 mile pace, then 1 hour gym mainly legs but a bit of upper body and then straight into pool for 40 lengths. Nearly 3 hours in total.my aim is a Kinder half dozen on Saturday.

Good stuff Simon... maybe see you at a race somewhere!

9 miles tonight... generally quite steady, although threw in a couple of brisker miles in the middle, the fastest being around 6:20....

Just about to enter the Fairfield Horseshoe for Saturday, which will be a good warmup for the similar distance Moelwyn British Champs race the following weekend.
