Looking at it again tahr I don't think it took 18 as the garmin stopped working on Friday so a very rough guideline but got all the high ground done which I'm pleased about and decent of scafell onto the ascent of yewbarrrow which needs to be done prior I went over places such there is actually something called that other than the obvious
10.5 miles snowy PW fun yesterday. 9.25 miles of the Marsden 10 course today. Both in deep snow. Nice. Sheep huddled together in shelter is an indication of worse to come.
Fairly steady 11 miles from home out to Redmires and back via plenty of filthy footpaths and trods. Slush and mud, turning to ankle deep snow in places, followed by funny looks in Sainsburys when I called in for some shopping on the way past. Rain, sleet or snow all the way, a good lesson in "MTFU" and surprisingly fun in a masochistic sort of way.
Hour and a half out on the local, snow receded enough to allow for some decent running. Nice run out, hill looked lovely today

4 mile on flats roads. Boring but it got me out of the house.
this week im trying to focus my training toward speed, in preperation for couple of events over the weekend, just trying to sharpen and freshen myself up. So tonight I did 5-10mins warm up then 12 fast 200m intervals along the sea front and some strides to finish off with, out for about 30mins, felt great, even the intervals into this damn wind were good
5 miles tonight with new head torch H7R Led Lenser really impressed with it especially when I came across 6 Red Deer in a field and used the zoom spotlight function. Bit tricky in the slush but made up for not getting out this weekend .
Steady 10 mile trail run this morning.. rep session on the old treadmill tonight.. 1 mile warm up, 3 x 1mile reps at 5:40 lowering to 5:00 pace.. 0.3 mile rest and 1 mile cool down.. 17 for the day.. makes up for only 13 in the past 3 days due to being away skiing in vermont,.. still ran 3 miles+ every day since early december.. so kept the run going..
Well I was going to do a 12 mile long run yesterday but after scaring myself silly coming out of Sheffield at 5.30am in a blizzard this is how my day went. Left car in Tideswell after I'd peeled my fingers off the steering wheel and walked 2.5mls home down Tideswell Dale, walked another 5 miles to a client, ran 9 miles on the Monsal, walked 2.5 miles to collect the car :-)
PS - what are strides and how do you do them?
