Tough return to bike commuting today, 23km and 300m climb on the way in, 23km and 400m climb home.... Made a bit tougher by the blizardy headwind n the way in - i had to wear my ski goggles this morning! Then I snapped my chain and had to fix it with frozen fingers. Ah well, I guess it's good toughness training!

Mile reps tonight, x4. Unpleasant. I'm sure I read that Kenny Stuart used to do them in about 4:20-4:30.... Mind boggling.

More fun than you can shake a muddy stick at!

This again, but with the club. Head torches to finish.

Day 1.. after an epic drive in.. simply a stunning area.. awesome runnable climbs, ruddy cold though..

16 miles, 1200m ascent. Great day out. Vicious wind though, face, hands, feed and groin really took it.. need to re-think winter running gear for such conditions..

8 miles and 1400' climb. Thought I would get out in the snow and feel the sting of the spindrift and the bite of the wind. Very pleasant in the valley but more challenging weather when I climbed up to the tops with a very strong cold east wind.

9 miles 1750' in the snow - Great run out ! A bit of a taste of what Edale would have been like today. Good decision Ian

Opted for an indoor turbo session. Should really (wo)man up but the drifts round here would mean more wading than running.

I managed 12 miles on Ilkley Moor today, it was a real battle! The snow was so deep on the high ground I had to walk on a wall. The strong wind blew the snow around, ski goggles/sunglasses would have been useful. Saw another group of runners heading a different way, I wonder if they are on the forum...

They are. We only managed 7 miles in a less than impressive 2 hours, but had great fun making snow angels in the drifts on the way round.
