Probably one of first too aside from XC. I used to like dropping down into Whirlow or Endcliffe to run home.

Quick recovery paced run and an hour on the turbo trainer with some stretching and core strength exercises today.

Today 12.5 miles 7:30 am, usual trail loop in the forest, averaged 6:12 pace.. 5C so about perfect running conditions..
I've some great and hopefully permanent memories of being atop Millstone Edge and Over Owler watching sunsets.

10 miler on Thursday, Fox House loop extended to Include Stanage and Redmires.
6.3 last night steady road run. I've been taking a few friends on a run most Friday evenings as a social thing. Enjoyed it and there's plenty of hills where I live.
Debating a quick 5k tonight, haven't had a torch strapped to me foreheed for a few weeks!

Easyish week for me. 47m 8400ft.

Reintroducing push bikes whilst running everyday, 6 sessions (usually pre work) on the Turbo with stretching and some core work.

I'm being left unspervised next week from Wednseday onwards, looking forward to a lot of miles on the hill.

75 miles for the week for me.. Sun >Sat.. first week of taper for JFK 50 miler.. flew to USA yesterday.. raced Philly half today ran a pb in 1:13:36.. very happy.. the missus forgot her GPS so I gave her mine as I was just going to take it easy.. 1:17 was enough..

amazing how on a shorter race no GPS really could be better.. not sure on longs at all but I just ran off heart really, how I felt and pushed hard.

She ran 1:36 so turning into a decent little runner.

    easy week now..

    Recovery/taper week for JFK..

    mon: 4.5 miles 8:30 pace
tue: 8.1 miles wissakicken gorge, road and trail, 7:50 pace over two nice hills
wed: 9.1 miles over ben franklin bridge and up rocky steps, around the art museam and back.. 6:42 pace.. should have been slower but running through a particularly murderous part of NJ had to drop the pace to low 6's...

Plan now is 4 quickish today..
    easy 3 tomorrow..

JFK50 miler saturday.. starts with 2 mies on road then a lovely 13 miles along the appalachian trail.. then 26 miles along a canal toe path and undulating 8 or so back to the finish on roads..

All the best at the weekend Iain!

I haven't managed a run this week but done 6 hours martial arts so I'm in need of a serious blast out!

    Aye, good luck Iain.

13.25m 2905ft today. Awful weather, a really good day to be holed up in the office.
