s: am: 5 miles road 7:15 pace. pm: 5 miles steady 7:15 pace
s: Love Run Half, 2.5 mile warm up, 13.1 mile road race, few hills, strong head wind, 1:16:50, 5:50 pace 6th out of 8000 or so. the aim was just sub MP so happy enough after a hard week, struggled in the wind, weak field so lots of miles on my own. 1 mile cool down. pm: 3 miles steady

93 miles for the week, 1 quality long run, 1 effort session and 1 race.

1 more solid week then start to taper.

In Cambridge for a few days for work. Had a run through Grantchester Meadows this evening; probably my first run there since my student days, more than 30 years ago! River on one side of me, rough green meadow beneath my feet, cool refreshing wind whistling past my face. It doesn't get better then this in the flatlands. But I still prefer the routes from my home in the mountains of Leicestershire.

Terrible week.. struck down with the lurgy.

m: 5 miles steady recovery day.
t: am: steady 4 miles. pm: track, 3 x 1 mile 5:20-5;30 pace, dropped from 5 as didn't feel right
w: 15 miles on trails, just not feeling right at all, really really tired
t: 4 miles 8:30 dying.. man flu had a severe grip.
    f: am: 10.2 miles steady 7:30's. pm: 5 miles steady 8's.
s: am: 4 miles 7:15's feeling better, still coughing. pm: 13.1 miles 6;50 pace, still coughing
s: 10 miles 6:40 pace (aim was 16) on hilly trails and road, had to drop from the longer run as just felt dead. pm: 4 miles 7:15 pace.

Just can't shake the shit off my chest, feel flat and weak running..

85 miles for the week, which 3 weeks out is about spot on, 90% load, just a lack of quality and a missed one last long run.

Hoping to get one last week of sharper running, 65-70 miles, maybe one last long run of 14-15 miles.

Great morning for a run this morning. A full 23s/mi quicker over one of my standard hilly road runs than a month ago (http://www.mapmyrun.com/workout/936252817). I'm on the way back baby!

At this rate, I'll be reinstating my care to join me runs before you know it! (Had a lovely walk over Pendle on Sunday, then hit the Lakes on Monday...I felt the itch again!!!)

16mile off road today in 1:58:30, couple of 10+min miles when the hills got steep, alternatively, mile 14, 15, 16 all took in region of 5:55 down disused railway line towards finish... cracking run really, loved it
