Last nights RATRun was an 8 mile and 950 ft from The Bulls Head at Youlgreave. Seven of us dropped into Bradford Dale, followed it up to Middleton and then across fields to Friden before a lovely run through Long Dale. We then returned to Youlgreave via fields and woodland.
Back at the Bull, very expensive cheesy chips were washed down with Marstons Pedigree and a very tasty Hobgoblin Gold from Wychwood Brewery.
Apparently we missed Michael Gove by 24hrs!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
Is the Bull’s Head the pub opposite the church? Youlgreave is one of my favourite Peak villages
EDIT: it’s not. That’s the George

I might have posted before but a group of us stayed at the YHA at Youlgreave in 1981, so 39 years ago

It is still part of the YHA located in a magnificent building situate the centre of the village. I believe it used to be a Co-operative store.

It was the Co-op; you’re right. The dorms are (or certainly were), named after the old departments in the shop. I think we might have stayed in haberdashery
I love the White Peak (I love the Dark too mind) and need to get back soon

12.9 miles, 2244 feet, 2 hrs 42 mins 59 sec. Street to Wildboar Fell, Swarth Fell and back via Grisedale valley, Uldate and Fell end road.
Trying to find a way off the west end of Swarth Fell, into the top end of Grisedale, took an age, and after I'd already been completely discombobulated at Wildboar Fell Trig by people lounging about, quaffing coffee and so preventing me (due to social distancing restriction) actually touching the pillar - OCD was not amused!!! Hope they all ger'off to Torremolinos or wherever soon - Arrgh

2.5 hrs on Ilkley Moor this morning with Jim. Burley Triangle along the northern edge all the way to the plane crash memorial. Back along the top visiting both trig points, 12 apostles and the shooting hut. Drizzle,a cool breeze and no view all the way. Very enjoyable.
A half-marathon "effort" around a local reservoir this morning. 1hr31.
Didn't warm up... just straight out the car and into the run. And by no means on fresh legs... have been doing double sessions most days this week... so i'd like to think that in race conditions i could give 1hr25 a run for it's money... but i was certainly running with a fair amount of effort this morning.
May do a couple of miles tonight to loosen up... likely to give me a weekly total of around 65 miles and 10,000ft.
As i mentioned previously, i may be on here quite a lot less in the future whilst home/work/family life continues to be a little turbulent... however next few weeks should be fun.... hopefully racing on the fells the next two weekends, then the weekend after that i've got the trauma of a 3000m track race!
