Ran down to the canal, warmed up properly and did 2 x 1 mile reps

A short 4 mile hilly handicap pursuit race. supposed to be a friendly social run finishing at the pub. very fast and it hurt.

Others running were SS and Piglet.

I was boiling this morning !!

Club session at Earlham Park (taken by Bob Ashwood)

3 mins (90 secs jog back to start recovery) - 760m

2-55 (90 secs jog back to start recovery) - 750m

2-50 (90 secs jog back to start recovery) - 710m

2-45 (90 secs jog back to start recovery) - 700m

2-45 (90 secs jog back to start recovery) - 700m

2-45 (90 secs jog back to start recovery) - 690m

2-45 (75 secs jog back to start recovery) - 700m

2-45 (60 secs jog back to start recovery) - 730m

Aim of session to run hard for 3 mins then try to match distance covered despite falling running and then recovery time. Didn't achieve that objective but thinking about it realistically even a 5 second difference is worth 20-25 metres so practically impossible unless you deliberately hung back on first effort.

Ran to and from session, total distance covered 13.96 miles

Greenfield - Alphin - Wimberry - Plantation - Greenfield, nice night run....1:12:51hr, nice easy pace.....

Had a wander under Wimberry, appalled and shocked at the desecration left behind by the mourners of a young man who took his life there about a month ago.....4 x "RIP" hacked into the crag and surrounding boulders, a slate with personal message hammered and attached onto the main crag, numerous beer cans strewn around the base of the crag....I know that the deceased persons family and friends must express their grief but in this way!!!
Consider yourself lightly; consider the world deeply.

    Patterdale-Glenridding Dodd-Sheffield Pike-Stybarrow Dodd-Raise-White Side-Helvellyn-Nethermost-Dollywaggon-Grisedale Tarn and back to the car.

4500' climbing and about 15 miles on a very windy and claggy day - but so good to be out!!!! Bailed out of adding Fairfield cos it was getting a bit wild but still a fab 4 hour outing.
