Don't think bump enjoyed it that much tho!!!
Don't be embarrased at all MG. I am sure you will have plenty a story to tell your bump when he or she arrives about your gym sessions. Take care.

Steady Mickleden Straddle recce with a chum. Blowing a gale and still plenty of ice out on the route. Trotted round in 2h 40m.

Slow and steady run of PB relay leg 2 - plus then had to get back to car, jogged back along top road til about half way and then gave in and hitched a lift. Very mixed underfoot - puddles, mud, icy bits but apart from rain as I left the car and drizzle for the first hour it was nice to be out

    Re: Today's Training

Fairly flat and even down to dam of Cant Clough. Climb after Hurstwood Res upto Gorple Stones. Flattish until drop to Widdop. Down and flat along road, except last little bit. Climb from road to Gorple Lower Res and then again from cottages to high on Hepptonstall moor. Down and flat along Edge lane, big drop and then climb to W end of Brown hill Lane ( this seemed to go on a bit). Flattish and down along lane and past New Delight. Steepish climb from Shaw bottom to road, then its down and down ( except I had to get back to the car of course!!! so didn't do the last big descent and turned back along the road through Blackshaw Head - this really did go on and on)
I think last year and year before we did it in about 1.47
Today took closer to 2 hours ( plus even more to get back to the car) but there was some ice, I did stop to chat a couple of times and I wasn't really racing.
It will be fine. Just remember you're racing with an old lady - so even if I get rid of this cold by then you may have to wait! At least I know the way- so you'll have to wait!! haha
