Morning run up Horsehead fell from Hawkswick. Lovely morning and a display from a trio of Army Lynx helecopters and a couple of Hawk jets as well, great run.

    12 miles ish.
    Over a thousand foot.

Just seen the handicaps for this weekend's big race. I can't believe you only give me 17 minutes start...

Bu&&er! some one has complained and I know only have 3 minutes start.

Gentle jog over Bleaklow, very windy and very wet under foot, all the streams are in spate. Probably wouldn't have gone out but Nicky wanted some fresh air.

2 others were out on WBC on a Tanky recce, didn't see them but the tracks were fresh.

7.5 miles and 1250' local run, first couple of miles I managed without the headtorch. Local yobs have been up there, probably on trail bikes at the weekend, and wrecked the cairn and left beer cans behind

Very wet, windy and clag down on the top, lovely jubbly

5 miles on the road. A bit quicker than I've been of late so things are starting to look up. Racing before the end of the year maybe..

    Re: Today's Training

Set out from Buxton yesterday afternoon with the intention of doing a 2 and a half hour 3500 or so ft training run for the Tour of Pendle.

Did half an hour and it was absolutely p*****g it down with no sign of improvement so I got back in the car, went home, had a brew, made some toast and opened a pack of chocolate biscuits and watched the football.

Does that make me a wuss ? and will a repeat lead to a ban from this forum ?

Pen-Y-Fan race route with the dog.

A short 3.6 miles, 1850 elevation gain in 45 minutes.

Disappointingly 2:30 minutes slower than the race but the top and north side was covered in snow with a strong, bitterly cold wind. I reckon if I took a sledge I could have been down in 30 seconds ! :w00t:

Very wet and slippy underfoot going up & down. Dog did not look too impressed being washed in a cold stream after either.

16 beautiful, bog filled miles on Ilkley/Baildon/Burley/Addingham Moors yesterday. Final long 'un before T.O.P next weekend.
