Thanks. Sounds ok now but its getting colder here too. Need it relatively ice free as I'm off to Germany on Monday and the wife would not be happy if I break any bones !

Of course, the pensioners' get together. We sat round the picnic table in the snow. Even MOD plod came over for a chat. All was well with the world in a Panglossian sort of way.

Not often the word Panglossian is used on Today's Training thread

I think you'll find Panglossian is rarely used, which is a shame. I might introduce Candide to my Year7 Geography class tomorrow see what they think. Get them to set a trend in the use of the word Panglossian.

Tonights training - I think the club might be cancelled so sprints on a snowy snowy beach for me....

17 miles on the mtb; over to pendle from burnley, across to whalley, clayton, then back along the towpath.

Moderately numb toes and fingertips; must remember to dig out the overshoes next time, waterbottle was turning into an apple juice slushpuppy!

Just a short half hour from home but my optimism that I've recovered from my latest calf pull is slightly less panglossian than it was before I set out!!

(hope that makes sense as tbh I had to google 'panglossian'!)

    ....
I trust you will do it in the original French. Nothing like a bit of cross-fertilisation, especially for Geography students, n'est-ce pas?

I think you'll find 'less panglossian' is a bit of a contradiction in terms. It either is or it isn't, same as being a 'little less pregnant'.

(Oops, I clearly have fertilisation on the brain tonight and possibly the best place for it)

I'm very pleased to hear it, make sure you keep it warm in this weather and may your garden be always full of roses.
