    Reference Guide

The following links should prove useful:
    1) FRA Calendar
    2) FRA Rules for Competition
    3) FRA Safety Requirements for Fell Races
    4) FRA standard entry form.
    5) UK Athletics Competition Rules.
    6) UK Athletics Club search or FRA Clubs list.
The FRA Handbook issued each year to members contains all the FRA information.
The FRA Committee do not constantly browse the forum; email them from here, if you wish to contact them.
Details of BOFRA races can be found here.

Race queries - see 1 above, and/or ask the organiser depending on significance of question. (see below)
Kit requirements - read 3 above, then ask on the forum.
Medical problems - ask a professional.
New club? - try 6 above, and of course ask on the forum.
Route maps - try Brummy John's website or Pete Bland's website.
5 minutes on Google can often give a good cross section of information from club websites.

    Race results:
    FRA results page.
John Schofields UK Race Results service. (Also often has race entry details).

    Other relevant sites:
    Bob Graham Round
    Joss Naylor Challenge

To be more specific with reference to subsequent (occasionally vitriolic) posts on this thread:
There are some questions, which can only be reliably answered by the organiser, the race website, or the FRA documents.
Why risk an out of date or incorrect answer from a third party? Other questions can of course be answered by the ever helpful forumites, without troubling the race organiser.

They'll be nothing to talk about now Grumps.

Does anyone know where I can get a route map for Ben Nevis ? When it is ?What the kit requirements will be ? and where I can stay ?

Does this forum really need 'The Grump'? I noticed you were a bit offhanded with someone on their 4th or 5th post recently, i'm not sure a hostile alter-ego is really necessary but i'm guessing you're a moderator so let's hope you can control your grumpiness.

The solution is even simpler than posting links here. Just join the FRA and they will send you a nice little book (remember them?) with all this stuff in it that you can read even when your internet is down or when Mummy and Daddy have sent you to bed early.

You follow the 'tourist path' on a date listed several times on other threads, wear cotton t-shirt, trackie bottoms, and agonise over which of the Inov-8 range to use. You still come 237th.
Where to stay? At home until basic brain functions are restored.

In the meantime, you enter the Great North Run with 5 mates, starting on row 3 just behind the Kenyans, but end up walking the last 13 miles in a line across the course, thus blocking 1000's of other runners, who bothered to read the race literature.
    Harsh

I guess this fell running lark is only for the serious professional. I'll be glad if I do as well as 237 in the Ben race. I doubt I'll ever run in the great north run(I don't really like roads) so, I wont get in your way. Knowing I'm not the greatest athlete I tend to start races towards the back and generally get past a couple of runners before settling into position and enjoying my run.

Have you ever thought about anti depresants ? Might help YOU enjoy life a little more Mr Grumpy

    Re: Reference Guide

I think the Grump's idea to have a Reference Guide as a resource for beginners was a good one

I'm sure I saw him post the word Enjoy earlier too after helping someone

I loathe that bloody american Enjoy! Grrrrrrrrr, its so annoying
