    Sounds about right to me. I'm the same, I run in shorts all the time and have yet to get one, suppose it'll happen one day...

    It must have been on me for 36-48 hours, i've showered twice and got a wash in the river on the way back, I had long legs on for a change on Friday so probably picked it up Thursday

    Ian don’t get too stressed about it, I have had dozens ofthe tings on me over the years, due to my other hobbies which leaves me at greater exposure than running. Your Doc’ is spot on, just keep an eye on the bite area and watch for flu symptoms. Odds on you will be fine.

    orienteering have had a hundred if not hundreds over the years. Usually try to check each evening in a shower but do not always find them immediately.
    So far so good. Check the spot you were bitten- does it have a big red ring round it? Flu sort of symptoms are a danger sign.
    You will be unlucky to suffer.
