    All 2,000ft+........

    ....summits are closed for health and safety reasons because of the volcanic ash cloud.

    I heard this too. Apparenty it looks fine and clear from the ground but as soon as the small particles start to go into your jet engines, it could be very dangerous.

    I've left the batmobile at home today and have instead come to work in the skoda.

    I've cancelled today's training run. Don't want all that fine pumice powder in my highly tuned bronchials.
    How much of the 3 Peaks is above 2000'?

    Just watched the news and they were saying it's only a problem in the upper atmosphere

    I guess details will come out soon.

    I suppose I'll just have to put back my double BG attempt

    My advice would be that if you are going to high ground, you should try to stoop slighly while near the summit.

    Quite a lot I'm afraid but don't worry the kit check has been amended and you'll be fine so long as you carry one of these.....

    Excellent. Glad I kept my trusty S30 respirator. Hate it when they fill up with sweat though and you can't see out of the eye-pieces.
