Now please don't be offended but thats not what theses hipsters will be riding round shoreditch. They'll be on something custom built like:

or

The more expensive, or rare - or both the more scene points and thats what it comes down to

Showing my ignorance, what is a hipster - I am assuming its a cycling fashionista

Far from it, though i see from another thread you now know what a hipster is. Now as a rule i don't have a problem with hipsters. I do have a problem with hipsters when it comes to cycling. And the fact that they'll soon be using top of the range cyclo-cross bikes to ride/push around shoreditch etc just to look cool gets on my ti*ts. These poor machine will never see a bit of mud or get used in anger at all. However there is a plus point - and that is 6-12 months fown the line when the new cycling trend will arrive for the hipster these bikes will end up on ebay so you and i can snap them up at a significantly marked down price

I guess that it amounts to the cycling equivalent of Chelsea tractors - nobbly tyres that never get slutchy?
<looks embarrassed> I recently bought a cyclocross (Focus Mares) and it's the most beautiful thing I own. However, I do ride it every day and I have also ridden it offroad...
I also single speeded my old mtb...
Nothing wrong with buying one at all mate. As long as it gets used and see's mud it's all good. It's when they never see mud, and only get used in towns/city's by people wanting to look cool thats the problem. I too am thinking about getting one - the all city nature boy looks nice:
