Thread: Carneddau race

I agree - a stupendous race, despite that sting in the tail. Not many other races, and probably no other medium races, pack in three 3,000' summits and cover such terrific running country. One of the best. If it's not on, perhaps an informal version may surface?

Yes - good idea. Or perhaps if enough people show interest on the forum it might get resurrected.

We should start a new thread - Save the Carneddau race!

Such a pity, a superb race which rivals the lakes for classic medium fell running. Just superb.

Never understood why it never got that popular.. the other classic mediums seem to do better, Moelwyns, Eilio, Cader...

Very true - in the same class as the Grisedale Horseshoe etc.
Do you know who the organiser used to be Iain?

It was Ross and Shiela Powell and Geoff Clegg,

I know Ross has had some health issues so maybe that's also a contributory factor, along with the pub.

Agreed Carneddau looks like the pick of the Snowdonia AMs to me, I thought it would have been perfect for the British this year, but the venue not suitable I may have been told.

The weather worries don't help; personally I would have thought a new date in August might be better.
