    Blisters

Not really a blister, I've actually managed to rub all the skin off a 10p sized area of my left foot. It's tender to the touch but I'd really like to get out for a run tomorrow. I just had a look at the Boots website and there seem to be quite a few makes of blister plaster, can anyone recommend one? Thanks.

I always use compeed. Seems to work for me. However it can come off if it gets soaked when fresh on.

    Blisters

I over pronate when I run.

No problem on the road, I wear anti pronation shoes.

Coniston today, fast descent in warm weather the back of each foot rubs from side to side in my Walshes.

I end up with huge blisters on the ball of each foot.

    what can I do?

    Apart from uphill races

btw, I have trashed walshes on one run!!

Stop gap - Try getting some wide zinc oxide plaster and put it on the balls of your feet before the race - must make sure there are no wrinkles in the plaster.

Long Term -Best thing for blister prevention is to coat your feet with pure lanolin then carefully put your sock over your foot without wiping it off. Vaseline gave me blisters but I've raced 100 miles (once) and 100km several times non stop without any problems using lanolin.
The lanolin is not that easy to get hold of, however you can get it direct from producers online
or NK Chemicals Ltd 01924 444849 (ask for Martin Gunson)
    you ask for anhydrous lanolin
    Hope this helps

I think everyone is different, what works for one person doesn't work for another.

'Fixing Your feet - prevention and treatments for athletes' by John Vonhof is a great book with lots of info and advice.
