    Super CV Exercises Please.

    I am sadly in worse state than i thought so i am thinking other than running and cycling/spinning what are absolutely fantastic exercises for getting the old heart and lungs working better and quicker than just the running. To make you aware i have gym membership that has all the machines you could shake a stick at plus boxing ring and swimming pool. Please help as i have only 6 months until i'm 40 and it would be nice to be in shape for then. { Just to be clear i am running and spinning already}

    Can you walk?

    Walking is the best exercise there is. Stan Bradshaw walked from East Lancs to Morecambe aged 80. Just do it. I mean walk not saunter or ramble. Proper brisk walking.

    Well, what you waiting for? If you want some CV choose a hilly route. That's it.

    Tabata intervals are quick, easy (but hard ) and very effective. Look on tinternet for more details.

    New they are over 1K. Check out ebay but look at the Concept2 website to see the difference in the versions going back a few years. Don't go for a cheaper alternative if you are going to buy one, they are head and shoulders above anything.

    Deadlegs Tabata sounds great.Have you or anyone you know had experience of the claims regards the increased Aerobic and Anaerobic thresholds and also consequently the fat burning. You know what i mean many things say hey we're great but don't always live up to it although this does seem to make sense.

    I don't do it as much as I did. A mate and I used to do sessions while Corrie was on and our wives wouldn't miss us. It's not very scientific but I felt that I got alot of benefit from them. Just back from Fairfield. Did 1.43 which is a pb by 11 mins and over 20 mins better than last year so somethings working. The real beauty of it is that you do the whole session in about 20 mins . Give it a go. You'll be suprised how tough it is.
