    Goyt Valley Series 2007

Seeing as the Goyt’s Moss Fell Race is in a few weeks, I just thought I’d confirm the details for this year’s ‘Goyt Valley Series’.

Race 1 – Goyt’s Moss Fell Race (BM)
    Wednesday 23rd May 2007, 7.30pm.
7miles/1400’ from Derbyshire Bridge Car Park, Goyt Valley, Nr Buxton, Derbyshire.
    £3.50 on the night only.
Change for 2007 – Now the first race in the series. Hopefully, no midges!

Race 2 – Shining Tor Fell Race (AS)
    Wednesday 25th July 2007, 7.30pm.
5.9miles/1600’ from Errwood Sailing Club, Goyt Valley, Nr Buxton, Derbyshire.
    £3.50 on the night only.
Change for 2007 – New Course.

Race 3 – Windgather Fell Race (BL)
    Sunday 21st October 2007, 11.00am.
13.5miles/2500’ from Burbage Institute, Bishops Lane, Buxton, Derbyshire.
    £5.00 on the day only.
Change for 2007 – New finish.

    Thanks,
    Mark.

Providing we make it back from our Pennine Way attempt by then to organise it!

Is Goyt's Moss a championship race for any of the local clubs this year?

Pennine have a mid-week summer series this year (in addition to the normal club championship). Goyt's Moss is the first in this series. It's a shame it's not during the summer hols this year, as I might not be able to make it. (Bit of a late night for 7 year old daughter with school the next day). I was looking forward to it this year, as well, after being ill last year and struggling round the course.

By the way Al, was it you that I met last year on Bleaklow the day before Tanky's? I think you were recceing for the HPM.

Macc Harriers have it in our Wed Nights Champs, so you can expect a good turnout from us. We had 27 runners at Herod Farm...

What's this then? Whole thing in record time, or a relay?

Goyt's Moss is not a championship race for Altrincham but Windgather is.
Jeff says can you put a carpet on that nasty bridge, like they do on the cobbles at London!

Yes it was. I remember it well.
You were recceing Bleaklow for the Tanky's race the day before the race I usually take a month off.

Whole thing in a record time. The particular record we are after is the one where you stop in lots of pubs.

If we do, will he promise not to break-dance on it like he did last year?
