    Bob Graham Round Help

    Hi
Myself and Steve Walker are attempting an anti-clockwise BGR on Monday 14th June leaving Keswick at 0700 following a 23.30 hr schedule, unfortunately our support runner/navigator has had to cancel, he was covering legs 1 and 5, any help on any of the sections would be great, but its Keswick to Honister we are unsure about (the only section I havent run) anyone out there fancy helping out?

If the only leg you don't know is Keswick to Honister you'll find it hard to go wrong... from Keswick to Newlands is very straightforwardly road running and the route over Robinson, Hindscarth and Dale Head is obvious. Funnily enough I was up there late this afternoon wondering what it would be like in the dark on an early anti-clockwise start. In daylight it's very clear, so if you can't get a pacer you shouldn't worry too much about it. Early on in the day you'll be fresh enough to navigate.

Which way would you go up Robinson?
I favour the AW route (?) of climbing up the step grassy slope and then over the rock steps on the ridge as the path is easy going. I find the route up the valley and round the back of the crags harder going as the climb up the spongy grass is energy sapping.
Obviously the route round the back of the crags is quicker when descending!
