Three Peaks Yacht Race

starts on saturday 19th - gulp. There will be live tracking of the teams during the race at

and I reckon it would be great for everyone to know which runners are on which boat. It is possible to find this out on the race web site, but it's really tedious!
After a bad fall took out my original partner Damon Rodwell with broken ribs and stuff, the runners for "The Dockers" (on sailing barge "Autonomy") are me and Stewart Bellamy (Mercia). That is, so long as Stewart survives the LAMM unscathed!

Don't joke about it... I looked up the LAMM results for saturday, and Stewart was conspicuous by his absence in the Score class - to the major consternation of the crew. "Fortunately" it turned out it was his partner Matt Scriven who had busted the ankle down the rabbit hole, and not Stewart We are still on!

friday nght, the Dockers will be eating in the Captain's Rest in Barmouth 7-9ish, then drinking somewhere, if anyone's around.

Didn't we have a lovely time???

We saw a couple of great sunrises on Scafell and Snowdon and gave our poor legs a rest with a few days of rowing from the Mull of Kintyre to Jura. Fortunately we were in the Tilman so our sailors got a rude introduction to fellrunning by doing the Ben in the p*ssing rain while we drank beer at the quayside A great race and nice to see so many forum folk on it - although I only knew of Marvin (fellow Pennine runner) before I just tripped over this thread....

Well done Duncan on completing your first 3PYR. Sunrise on Scafell Pike? You were lucky - it was sunset by the time we got there due to the boat park at the Swellies the day before and painfully light winds off St Bee's Head. Nevertheless we nearly caught your runners on the Ben.

I was very pleased to complete all three running legs, and ironically it was Snowdon that I felt worst on.

Very well done also to Petal and the Dockers (2nd place). We were watching your progress on the tracker as we passed Oban and could see how close you were behind EADS and how close behind you Sea Fever were during the approach to Corpach.
