    Crowden Horseshoe

Hope lots of us are on for this one.

I made the classic beginners error with this one last year - after two (count them) Trunces I believed I was some kind of fell running expert and thought that a poxy eight miles would be no problem. I soon came down to earth with a bump.

A year older and wiser, I've used this course many times as a practice route and I've grown to quite like it Can't wait for the race proper.

I haven't been up Black Hill for a few weeks though - anyone know what its like at the moment? I'm hoping for pukka bogs on the day...

I ran this three years ago. Fantastic bogs, and low cloud. Great running conditions..

Heh - it feels like 7.5 miles of climbing is "paid back" in 800yds of descent!

My favourite part of this race is that feeling of hopelessness when you reach the top and turn for home - you may as well be on the moon

Hope it isn't flagged on the return this year.

Bone dry at the moment. I am running the course on Sunday hopefully if not hungover, so will report on course status then.

    Hi Marvin

I did this 3 years ago as my first fell race. I knew the route and did quite well. This was the year when 30 runners went too far left after coming off the top.

    One of my favorite races.

Doing the Fellsman so unfortuanatly I won't be there.

Area is bone dry at the moment as is everywhere around there. Good course this one and well organised by Monsieur Gibbons of Glossop.

Wish I could do it but will be approx 3000 miles away on the other side of the pond by then.

Coming off black hill trig on last years race I lost both my shoes in a bog. Couldnt get the damm laces undone so decided to continue without shoes for a while - what was I thinking! soon had to put them back on again.

Yes -very tricky last section but a good course
