Re: Crowden Horseshoe - 13 May

This one is in our local clubs fell race grand prix so there should be a good turn out. The course is highly runnable for the fast ens, the final descent is a bit tricky though.

Going to the match after (3pm start) so might need to drag my son along and go straight to there from the race.

Good run this morning with forumites Roadrunner, Dark Peaker, Bone and a few others including race organiser Des. Cheers for that guys. If it stays dry over the next week you could consider race flats it was fairly dry today especially until the summit.

What's the route, which way round?
Was planning a BG on Sat 12th but knee injury put a stop to that for the time being, so should be around on the Sunday.

I have a PDF file from a website that has the exact route detailled - I was going to link to it but it appears they've made a pay site since I got it - so PM me and I'll email my copy across to you.

Roughly : from the Youth Hostel, clockwise following the Pennie Way to Black Hill (via Laddow Rocks), then across Tooleyshaw Moss to White Low then Westend Moss, Hey Moss and back to the youth hostel (steep finish).

(unless : gulp - it reverses direction this year: I shall stay in my tent if so )

It's going to be clockwise, in other words, the way described above. Just ran the course again. Took me 1 hour but got a little confused at one point and slowed down to ensure I was on the right track. A little wetter today than yesterday bt still very runabe. Last section very steep!
