Race date 20th August 2017 - Love resurrecting these old threads rather than start a new one. Few photos here from yesterdays Crowden Horseshoe which this year was a Derbyshire Championships Race. Buxton AC took the Derbyshire Champions Team Gold. MrRTS race 31 of 50@50 with 50,000 meters total ascent. Super running everyone. Brilliant organisation by Des and Co. He even sorted a traffic gap to get the runners to the race, although not all the workmen got the Memo. Maybe Buxton AC threw a bribe in there haha. Still a strong field set off for this super race. Lots of bog swimming by the look of most of the runners at the end. Anyone coming down with clean legs there needs to be a Stewards Inquiry to see if they did the route ;-) Keep on running everyone and stay safe :-) I'll put them up on fb later but like to put the on the FRA forum 1st.

Thank you to the super organisers, marshals, supporters and runners. Brilliant race. Nigel is raising money for the Thomas Theyer Foundation. No obligation but if you wish to make a small donation from as little as £2 please follow this link -
https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Nigel-Jeff Thomas was a keen fell runner who ran for Buxton AC. He died in 2013 just a month after his 18th birthday when falling on Parkhouse hill whilst out on a training run. Thomas had ADHD and running helped him cope with his condition. The Foundation aims to bring outdoor activities to all kids with additional needs and difficult life circumstances. A brilliant cause.
Thank you so much. If anyone wants the high quality original please give us a shout noting the file name bottom left. Original has none of the writing on. Keep on running and stay safe everyone :-)

Great set of photos, first time doing that race. Ended up to my groin in the peat at one point. On my todo again list.

It's great news... would like to enter but should be racing at Llangollen that day...

Some of the comments regarding this race on facebook are gold...! Asking the organiser for a gpx trail, do you need a compass, and the always popular "what kit do you have to carry"

    Good luck Llani...

I'm in too. The one and only time I ran this was in Aug 2014. Fingers crossed it actually goes ahead.

Des Gibbons, what a race organiser. Last one of his I did was James's Thorn on 1st March.
