    Shoe size

    Hi,

I'm curious to know how other forumites fare when trying to find the right size of fell shoes, particularly when swapping between Walsh and Inov8.

I'm generally a size 10 in everyday shoes, so tend to find myself going for size 11 in road running trainers (to avoid trashing my toes). I have a pair of Terroc 330s which are a size 10 and fit fine, but I seem to need an 11 in the newer Inov8's, such as Roclite 315's. Weird.

As for Walsh, my size 10.5 PB Trainers are definitely too small. Reckon I needed an 11, or even 11.5 to accomodate bigger socks.

Anyone got any tips on finding the right size shoes?

    Re: Shoe size

I had the same problem with inov-8's, I'm normaly 10 in non-running shoes, fluctuate between 10-10.5 in road shoes and find rocklites in size 10 to be absolutley perfect. I brought mudclaws off some chap in the forum thinking size 10 would be absolutely find - but to my suprise - far too big!

I reckon I would need to go down to 9.5 in the mudclaws. I tried the thinner insole but that made no discernable difference.

I wear Walshes in size 10, which are tight but very good after a little bit of a warm-up.

It's all a bit of a game really.

    Re: Shoe size

    I think it's all very difficult - I'm a size 6 flip flop/stiletto etc but my road trainers are a 7 and my innov8's I went with a 7.5.

My flyrocs and mudrocs have been fine as a 7.5 but when I tried on a pair of mudclaw 330's I thought the 7.5 felt too big so went down to a 7 - I have since lived to regret it

Every time I run in the 330's my achilles (both of them) are really sore. I've never had an achilles problem before and have alternated between different shoes for the following runs etc but the same thing happens every time I wear the 330's - it's really annoying as I do like them!!

So - think I'm just going to opt for the 7.5's from now on regardless!

Well, having a monthly income of £25, I have one! I run in my dad's old pair of Asic Mudclaws, they're an 12 and I'm usually a ten, but so long as I wear a thick pair of socks they're fine, apart from the occasional blister.

    Re: Shoe size

i haven't got any fell shoes yet - keep saying I will get some after pay day but theres always something else I need to buy

BUT judging by this thread it seems people need to go for larger sizes than normal when they are buying fell shoes - no way am I gonna admit what size feet I am in fell shoes if that's the case
