I think the late great Les Dawson summed it up:
"We lost 3-0 and we were lucky to get nil!"
They might as well have stayed at home.

Funny, the ManUre fans at our place were all saying they wanted us to win yesterday - assuming they were going to get through and whup us in the final. Can't wait to see them tomorrow
Having said that, any side that beats them 3-0 is going to be very hard to beat in the final - will be an exciting match - certainly no foregone conclusion, but I wouldn't bet on the excitement of 2005!
Anyway, it alleviates the security concerns... No ManUre fans - no trouble!

Liverpool shirts everywhere in Leeds today.

And all my friends couldn't understand why I wasn't backing Liverpool (or Chelsea - just hoped they kicked hell out of each other) when they're my 'hometown' team.
For these people football doesn't exist beyond the champions league, or if they're clever, the Premiership.

Anyway, I might have a nice quiet stroll around Liverpool on the day of the final. Given the 5 million who claim to have been in Turkey, it should be quiet...

The Rovers eh? I used to stand in the Cowsheds cheering them on when I was a lad! I watched Wigan Athletic's first ever game as a League club at Prenton Park, the same day Pope Paul VI died - Pub quiz question - name the year and the team they replaced!!!!!
