    The hypocritical Mr Weir

On BBC 4 just now (programme = Rain - approx 35min in), the wonderful Mr Weir of Honsiter Slate mines (remember the OMM...) was just pronouncing on how wonderful it is to be out on the fells, even in really heavy rain.... Strange how he's changed his tune when he gets a chance to advertise his business

Was he one of these folk who got all nanny state about the rainy MM event in the lakes? Use of words like 'morgue' and so on to describe a wet fellrun?

Quite a debate over on ukclimbing - heres the link - http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=414822 about his planning application for a 1.2km zip wire from the summit of fleetwith pike back down to the quarry.

    Re: The hypocritical Mr Weir

A woman I used to work with said she met Mr Weir at the slate mines, and the thing that came over the most was how media savvy he was, and how much he was prepared to push it to promote the quarry, I suppose the word I'm looking for is egotistical.
