My missus has something similar at the moment. Hers is to do with muscle imbalances. Her main thigh muscle, I think the quad, is powerful, but a bit too short, and pulling her knee cap out of line which is puting pressure on other things. I think the physio also said it may be connected to flexibility issues in the hip. Anyway she has to do loads of stretching and leg strengthening excersises.
yeah trying to do all the excerises about strengthening inner quads etc!
Feel like a bit of an idiot sat in meetings lifting my leg up and down under the table. No one's noticed yet but wont' be long!
Managed a ride out on my mtb last night.
Got cold wet and filthy!!!!
Was great fun and knee seemed ok!
Looks like cycling might keep me sane in the near future!

I had knee pain going down the stairs (or walking downwards in general) Suffered with it for a bit then went to physio, only problem was I was living in france at the time and it was a tad costly, did three weeks of leg raises, and lots of that electricution stuff. This worked well. I've been suffering with twinges again recently in my other knee and achillies, I reckon this is a result of hammering it a bit in the winter cross country league, I only started racing properly last year and I reckon I've overloaded it a bit. I've rested up for a few weeks now and will go out tentatively towards the end of the month...
Hmmmm this isn't getting any better!
Its nearly 2 weeks since I ran and had a little (ie 5 steps) jog from the car yesterday and its painfull as ever!
It dosen't hurt when I cycle so have been but wondering whether it stopping it getting better!
Thoughts?

Me too!
I thought I was getting better but went for a run two weekends ago and pushed it more than it needed, It's a bloody desperate feeling - when you get back to training you've got to build up the mileage all over again.
Anyway to combat grumpiness I've been doing low impact C.V. stuff in the gym and have started up my old strength trainning prog. This is keeping the moodiness at bay. My knee feels pretty good at the mo I must say, but I'm going to rest it for a further two weeks and then get back into it.
