    Love handles?

I can't believe it :w00t: after years of looking like an undernourished greyhound i'm starting to notice bits of fat that are helping themselves to my angular physique and swallowing up space that i had already earmarked for muscle development .

This is it now isn't it? no matter how many sit-ups i do it'll always be one step forward, two steps back.

you can't fight mother nature. Twelve years ago there was more meat on a butcher's pencil than my physique, then my Mother's side of the family dropped their genetic payload and now I beep when I walk backwards, put my belt on with a boomerang & when I cut myself gravy comes out of the wound. On the plus side, I don't feel the cold as much as I used to.

Ha ha I don't think there's any heavyweights in either side of my family fortunately. I watched Reign of Fire on Film4 when it was on, with Matthew McConnoughey in it as Van Zan, and immediately wanted to increase my weekly sit-up count.

According to new research it isn't the amount of exercise, it's down to diet!!!! Sit-ups and cycling seem to work well enough, even with cake (but not at the same time)

    Re: Love handles?

I've still got vestigial 'L-Hs', but don't do any other exercise than riding/running.
    Perhaps I ought to start

I was a bit porky till Easter 2007, when I got back on the bike (after a lay-off for a few years)
Before starting up again, I was approaching the 11 & 1/2 stone mark.
When I started running in 2008, the end of that year saw me down to roughly 9 & 1/2 stones, which annoyed the wife
(there's a pic of me from mid 2008, that shows me with almost a '6-pack'!!!)

Nowadays, I tend to be around the 10 stone mark - still fairly light, which helps on the hills (on the bike)

Damn!!!, have I missed 'Reign Of Fire'
