I was lucky enough to win a similar day with Joss 2 years ago - my final bid gave others about 20 seconds to react .....

Many us will long remember running with a racing against Joss in his heyday. He was a Wiley old fox and it was a pleasure to see him at his best, in action and revel at his mountaincraft. He once said to me whilst I was following his shadow in the Ennerdale race ' don't follow me Lefty Im trying out a new route ' .....well Jos's new route was of course good enough for me !
