Did Loveshack's race up to the Cobden Cross about 15 year's back - I remember Graham Hill (Ron's lad) went storming off but I nearly caught him on the climb as he'd slowed down a fair bit. Can't remember who won!

Guess I'll have to dredge the memory banks......
The Race/Route I organised was a fair lungbuster, with views as far as Famau!!!

The new route, heads over to Mill Brow & beyond,
taking in some hidden folds in the local landscape,
    should be good fun!
    Miss Muddy Paws Dad....
    Not clever & often stupid..

Well that was fun and not too dangerous - thanks to Andy T for a good little race - hope it continues. The show was excellent as well - good value for 50p!!

Re: Mellor Show Race - 24 Jul

I'm afraid I couldn't resist reproducing the race commentator's final comments from today's event:

At today's Mellor Show Chase, Luvshack set off at a real canter galloping well through the field on the upward climb. For the first few furlongs he looked decidedly frisky. He slowed however before the first hurdle. Firm going and, initially, a hot day which soon cooled down may have befuddled him somewhat. Nonetheless he finished strongly impressing the pundits and must be surely fancied by many to complete the season in style. And guess what? After a fine outing on this new course wearing little but his birthday suit he was towelled down and lo and behold his sweat rug was in the colours of the Fell Ponies! What a game colt he is!

I think I've missed it this year - anyone know anything about this?
