PENNINE WAY 2 MAN RELAY – MARK & GERRARD SET A NEW RECORD!
I’ve just come off the phone with a justifiably elated Mark Cudahy, who rang to confirm that he and his brother Gerrard have set a new 2 Man Relay Record running the 270 mile long Pennine Way in a time of 55 hrs & 18 minutes! Some may recall they had a pop at beating the existing record last year, but had to give up after nagging injuries & trying weather got the better of them…. Suitably galvanised by that experience, they again braved some typical UK summer weather; setting off from Edale last Friday 16th July at 6pm, on a 5mph schedule, running alternating sections of approximately 10miles, aided by some great support provided by a posse of family & friends, Ged & Mark cruised into Kirk Yetholm in the early hours of Monday morn’, only to find they had missed Last Orders again!!
Well done Lads - no doubt there is a super story to be told!
