Hi Chris - So you came last on last years event then?

I'd have been doing this one but have other things on. I'm down in Bradwell doing the Long Tour of on the Sunday though....

    Have a good 'un

I'm doing the 28 miler as training for the Bullock Smithy. It's organised by the same guy who does the Hebden 22 so should be a very well organised event with lots of yummy food at the start and finish and en route.

    See http://www.ldwa.org.uk/challenge_eve...?event_id=6825 for more info.

Was considering the 20 miler - might even end up as first lady (as well as last) if the entries as low as last year, I'll have to find out where it is and the bus/train options now.

Chris, you are not doing us both any favours suggesting there were only two runners on the short route last year. Admittedly you might have considered the other 20 or so who put themselves down as runners on the short route were not really runners. Anyway hoped we might see you this year on the big boys route but so far no sign of your entry form. I have written to Sportident specially for you to ask them to extend the closing date to Friday evening although you could always enter by post or on the day. Just so everyone knows, we have changed all the long route extension using a similar amount of moorland to avoid the access problems and the short route has been amended as well making it quicker.

Hi Alan, I assumed the comments were made in jest, mine certainly were, having never experienced life at the sharp end through a conspicuous lack of talent I am always looking for races whre I am the sole female! However I see lots of ladies have entered and your website is great, really whetted my appetite, so two more entries will be logged onto Sportident this afternoon. Just need to work out how much time I have to scoff a bacon buttie between the train arriving and the race setting off! Incidentally a colleague rides her horse on some of the route and has told me how much i will enjoy it, so come of folks get your entries in.

Yes, the comments were in jest. Thanks for your kind comments as well and look forward to seeing you on Saturday. The station is about 100 yards from the start so hope you get your bacon buttie. Entries coming on nicely but obviously not like the Hebden.

I entered the 20 miler this morning. Done the Hebden for the last 3 years but never this. Noticed the menu looks to be pretty similar in quantity to the Hebden so really looking forward to it.

Me and Tea & Cake (and Bessie the dog) ran the 28 miler yesterday. The weather was very kind to us and we had just the best time. We pottered round nice and steady as we're training for something much longer and although we thought we knew the area, we ran on lots of tracks and moors that we've never been on before, it was a cracking route. The checkpoints were a very welcome break and the people manning them were so friendly and encouraging, so thank you to Alan and his team for another brilliant day out.
