    Thanks Everybody!
still haven't processed the repercussions of this - was beginning to think I wasn't cut out for ultra stuff but now not so sure..

fjell_guy - I was going to give Bullock Smithy a miss this year, but now looking increasingly likely are you actually going to run it this year?

    - what do you mean "next time"?
wrt going "9-8" I think I would deffo do it again (hypothetically )
looking at the ScaFell-Honister splits of the next 10 runners ahead of me (placed 24th to 15th):
6 went 9-8, with only 2 of those 6 going faster than me
4 went 8-9, with only the guy in 15th going faster than me
so I think it suits me pretty well (whether I like it or not!)
being able to visit the pub is a big plus!
Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run

Given the chance to do it again I would head down to Wasdale if my legs felt ok at that point. It is well over 1km shorter and only about 40m more ascent than taking the Corridor Route.

    Daz.

    Yes, this year I'm running
Mrs TFG is walk/jogging with a mate and hoping to get under 20 hrs, and I'm hopeing she goes sub 18 (or better!). Much depends on the nav in the last third. A massive cock-up, on my part again, is not an option! I'm hopeing for sub 12.

Mrs Stagger and I went via Wasdale and I would definitely go that way again.
Rather than take the Wind Gap route we went via Black Sail Pass and cut the corner to Looking Stead (path not marked on OS/Harveys maps).
We didn't appear to loose any time compared to others around us on this section, despite a 20minute stop at the pub.
