The route includes 4 checkpoints which will provide water, sports drinks and food. CP2 will only have a limited supply of food and water but the other CP's will be fully stocked. We will also be providing transport from Kewsick (the base and the finish) to the start at Swirls.
Thanks 10P how will it be verified that a competitor has visited each of the the Peaks am I right in thinking there will be a marshal on each peak, or even Raynet maybe.

Sorry for all the questions but as I said earlier it is a tough choice between the 10 Peaks or the Fellsman and I want to make sure I pick the right one

    1. Stand still.
    2. Take rucksack of back.
    3. Take batteries out of GPS and put in rucksack for recharging or safe disposal.
    4. Get fresh batteries out of rucksack.
    5. Install
    6. Turn on.

Some of the peaks will be marshalled but I won't be giving any clues as to which ones - you'll just have to do them all!

Nice one Iain  folk could even consider using one of these http://www.reuk.co.uk/Freeloader-Solar-Charger.htm

But more of a faff and probably heavier than a couple of spare batteries.

Thanks again 10P. at least if I do 10 Peaks my GPS that will be tucked away in my sac recording my day out will verify what I have done, if indeed that is needed.

This sounds like a terrific event. Is it possible to enter this event as a walker, as my dodgy knee doesn't let me run these sort of distances anymore?
    thanks very much

When you enter you can choose between walker and runner. The runners will head off first. It is just about possible to walk the whole thing within the 24 hours but it will be tight.

Best to enter soon as the price will go up at the end of January!

Oleg, I've entered, am currently recovering from a minor operation, but am entered as a runner though I aim to walk some and run some (the objective being of course to actually complete the event) and to be honest if anyone has enough energy still to run up Skidda for the last summit, then good luck to them!

I expect that almost all of the runners will be walking a fair bit of the course - perhaps I should give out a special prize to anyone who can run up Skiddaw!

Well I'll not be contending for that particular prize...not that I win prizes unless it is the occasional fancy dress team prize, lol.

    10Peaks:
Can I just check, the route between peaks is up to the individual, but the order of peaks is set by you?
Are there any restrictions on which routes can be taken?
I presume the four checkpoints are the points (green dots) marked on the route map on the website?
Do you have to visit the Beck Head (near Gable) CP twice or just on the way to Pillar?
Looks like this event will make a good target for summer 2011!
