    Good good good good anoraks

As some of you lt from the previous forum will remember, we had a thread about all the anoraky things that fellrunners do - as I was writing a book about sporting anoraks / geeks & the things that they do (the main point of the book being that us anoraks are actually not one bit like Roy Cropper from Coronation Street.)

Good news is that a major publisher has agreed to take this on. I'm doing some redrafts to the manuscript at the moment - so if anyone else has anything to contribute......

I could do with a bit more on fell running to be honest. Plenty of soccer related stuff, particularly as i've had several soccer books out in the past. Denzil from the old forum (where is he these days ?) gave me some good stuff, as did Mr.Minikin from K&C (albeit inadvertently).

Who do you define as a sports fanatic?

    1. The sportsperson who would do anything to participate in his sport?
    2. The elilte athlete who would do anything to be recognised as the first or greatest?
    3. The fan who attends every event to watch his team?
    4. The collector who will purchase any items associated with his obsession?
    5. etc.

The book concentrates mainly on 3 & 4 but as far fell running is concerned theres a bit related to 1. Anoraks, all of them.

I would have thought that person who goes munro bagging or is determined to complete long distance challenges would also qualify a fell runner as an anorak.
