It does fill up quickly, so if you want to do it, get entered quick! Watch out for the hills though - I think this is one of the toughest LDWA events around. Sooooooo much climb! (Unfortunately I have the delight of the committee meeting so don't need to dredge up a feeble excuse to get out of doing it!) I also think that the short route, especially when it was diverted off the canal (is it still?), is really good. You still get dripping butties.
And dripping socks, Socks!

Socks, we walked the short 'fun run' route last year and the finish is away from the canal still
Poacher turned game-keeper
took day off work to recce round this today
delayed start waiting for piddling down rain to ease off a bit, and slow going due to it being a tad damp underfoot, so had to miss off the final Cragg Vale section after Broad Head Clough
lots of twists/turns and checking of maps/directions
only went astray twice, which I thought was quite good, given the latticework of paths that mean you could go wrong about every 50 yards if you weren't paying attention!
looking forward to doing this in anger so I can actually get a proper "run" at it!

Anyway, 20 ish miles is a bit short for me these days. At my age.

Daz- not 'in anger' surely all fell running is 'just in fun'?
Brave man heading out onto the hills today. I was inside but every time i lokked out it seemd yuk.
Wednesday wasn't too bad actually - the rain eased off during the morning and it gradually brightened up throughout the rest of the day - I've even got a photo of Cragg Vale in the evening sunshine to prove it! (might put it up later) - the main problem was the muddy/boggy/slippery-rocky underfoot - esp those "paved ways" that are lethal in the wet :w00t:
