Excellent research by the journalist who wrote the article about the Tour in todays Daily Mail. Apparantly for the first time in the Tour's 107 year history there will be a British team in it. I suggest you have another look at the record book mate

Good rides by Millar,Thomas and Armstrong. Even Cavendish had a pretty good ride, wasn't far behind Wiggins who had a disaster for him.
Armstrong will have to be watched,he's far fitter and prepared compared to last year and is the top rider in his team. More likely than Wiggins in my opinion for the GC.

Wiggins was unlucky. They sent him out early to miss the rain. It then promptly rained as soon as he started.

I thought he chose to go early ? Martin went early too mind. I think he might have been over cautious. Long way to go mind.

He could have gone 4th from last but gambled and chose to go early to maximise the weather. They were led to believe the showery rain would get more persistent as the day went on therefore going early the plan was he'd miss it and also have longer to recover, sadly the weather men are as bad there as here! He was very pragmatic in his interview but yes, very early days yet.

A very interesting prologue, but with few surprises once Wiggins had finished.
Admittedly Tony Martins time looked 'nailed n' for a while, but Cancellara toasted everyone.

Oh well, wait for Stage 3 that follows part of the Paris-Roubaix course.
If it rains on the day (or the previous evening).......................................... ......

(just a pity they're not going through the Arenburg Forest!)

Wiggins took a gamble but it didn't pay off. The safe bet would have been to ride later on at the same time as his main competitors.

There are plenty of miles left to go, so it isn't over yet. Go Wiggo.
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.

I think that would have been more sky management than wiggins. A show stage really for the riders just to lay a marker down. I will be surprised if Contador doesnt get attacked big time on the pave.
