Wilf Richards used to coach me when I was a student at Manchester University.

We would train with MAC and M&DLCH at Fallowfield.

Wilf was also the co-editor of the influential Athletic Review magazine from 1947 to 1959.

I like the fact that M/cr Harriers stage these races in his name every year. In my opinion it's an event that a club should be proud to win.

Club events to commemorate former members do tend to have a finite life however.

What is the longest running event to commemorate an individual?

spirit can only dream of running that fast - stainers and Fergal look like they'll fly next week - unless they have a have a cobra evening on friday.

news from trafford 10k is TDMA has tapered too soon for the national

How was the selection for the A-Team decided Sparth, you appear to have been wrongly overlooked based on your race performance.

I reckon you have got your taper spot on for the Nationals
More excuses than a race start line!

we decided to put the young bucks in the A team and the old pros in the B team.

without Fast Fergal we might have got close to them

This morning, while developing mild hypothermia, my spy at the race & I eventually worked out Spirits secret. The ghostly presence and that '5.5. minute mile stride' pace had us going for a while.
Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.
